The first week of November is over. What a busy week that was....
The first three days of the week always start off the same for Matt...work and school. No breaks for him. He gets up early in the morning, goes to work, then has to hurry home to change and he's off to school. My first three days are mostly the same...I wake up late morning, run some errands for the karate school, clean the karate school, then teach class. By the time I get home, Matt is ready for bed and I'm still wide awake. Its kinda hard being on different schedules. Hopefully it wont always be that way.
This last Thursday and Friday, I had testing at the karate school. Students get a chance to earn their next belt rank at testings. I get to sit at a table and write down scores of how they did. It is always a fun event to be at. Kids are excited to be sparring and breaking boards. Others are terrified of being in front of everyone. It helps with their confidence though. Saturday we held the awards ceremony at the park. That was fun. The kids started to play football. After the awards ceremony, we had a little picnic with all the students and their families. It is so nice to be in a family environment. Everyone is so happy...well, most of them.
Matt was doing a clinical at Valley Hospital on Saturday. He was in the emergency room. He said there wasnt too much going on. I guess it is a good thing when the hospital is slow...not so many people getting hurt. Its interesting though. He gets to do some pretty interesting stuff. He learns a lot about the hospitals. He knows what hospitals are the good ones to go to.
Sunday was a really fun day. We were running late for church (big surprise...are we ever on time?) and I had missed a call on my cell phone. It was my grandma calling to tell me that my cousin went into labor! She wasn't due for another couple of weeks. Matt and I went to church. After church we rushed home so that I could go to the hospital. It is so exciting to have a new little baby in the family. My cousin Star has two little ones, but she lives so far away. I would love for us to be closer together. But this is the first little baby in Vegas since Amanda...and she's 17! When I got to the hospital, she hadn't delivered yet. But only 3 hours later...little DJ was born. He is so adorable! And super tiny!
So it was quite an eventful week. I wonder what this next week will hold...
